Case management workshop: The role of hotline in preventing human trafficking in the referral systems
 
15th October 2015, the Center for Women and Development (CWD) in collaboration with the Bureau of Child Care and Protection and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) organized a workshop Case management "role hotline of prevention of human trafficking in the referral mechanisms ". Ms. Yoshiko Ogawa workshop - CTA construction project hotline prevention of human trafficking in Vietnam, Pham Thi Huong Giang - Director of the Centre for Women and Development (CWD), and representatives from C45, PC45, Consular Department, Department of Overseas Labour, domestic and foreign organizations working on  prevention of human trafficking in Vietnam.

 

Under the coordination of Ms. Nguyen Hoa-perenial professionals in supporting cases and referral systems. Many interesting shifts are shared, at the same time encouraging the participation and proposing synchronous  coordination approach in the prevention network of human trafficking. The Peace House Shelter Project has been acknowledged to be an effective and suitable model that supports trafficking women and children. The project opened its door in 2007 and has  ever since provided assistance to more than 300 cases have been staying at Peace House Shelter, one case has been supported at home with its comprehensive support. In addition, hot line 18001567 belonged to Bureau of child care and protection of the Ministry of labor has received 2.010 calls, sucessfully connected and referraled nearly 50 cases in which many cases required the rescue of victims.


 

A few important points have already been discussed and commented as information feedbacks after referral  during the limited period, in order to respect the confidentiality of personal information of customers and support trafficking victims


 

The workshop also presented an overview of the project to protect victims - Program Termination human trafficking. The project includes work on capacity building for staff working in the verification, identification, protection and victim assistance; Strengthen coordination mechanisms between member of institutions from 138 provincial and district levels;  and Victim assistance and reintegration into the community


 

As part of efforts in the prevention and combat against human trafficking, Case management seminar "The role of the hotlinein the prevention of human trafficking in the referral mechanisms" is an opportunity to exchange views, devise collaborative solutions between individuals and organizations in efforts to prevent human trafficking in such an effective way.Therefore, in parallel with actions to repel crime,  providing supportting services to victims directly affected also contributed greatly in helping the victims in the community reintegration process.
